Huayuan promotes tourism resources in Changsha City

A promotion conference was held by Huayuan County in Changsha City on October 20 to promote its high-quality tourism routes and a number of cultural tourism investment projects. The recommended tourism routes include the place where the concept of “targeted poverty alleviation” was first proposed, the prototype of Shen Congwen’s novel “The Border Town”, and the birthplace of the Ganqiu Festival (world intangible cultural heritage).

The Party spirit education tour includes Shibadong Village, the command post of Liu-Deng Army crossing the river, the former site of the National Chadong Normal University, and Shi Bangzhi’s Former Residence. The youth study tour includes a mining exhibition hall, and the leisure and sightseeing tour includes the Gumiao River Grand Canyon, and Biancheng Chadong Scenic Area. Tourists can visit Shibadong Village to feel the great power of the idea of “targeted poverty alleviation” and experience the charm of intangible cultural heritage such as Miao embroidery and batik. In addition, you can appreciate centuries-old geological wonders, wander through the Biancheng Chadong and enjoy the beautiful scenery along the Qingshuijiang River.

Huayuan County has 1 national 5A scenic area (Shibadong Village), 1 national 4A scenic area (Biancheng Chadong Scenic Area), 1 national 3A scenic area (Gumiao River Grand Canyon), 1 national historical and cultural town (Biancheng Town), 1 national wetland park (Gumiao River), and 248 tourism resources, such as Zixia Lake and Jianduoduo Waterfall. It is an important component of the Xiangxi UNESCO Global Geopark.

In the first three quarters of this year, the county received 3,517,100 tourists, a year-on-year increase of 83.06%, and generated a tourism revenue of 3.505 billion yuan, a year-on-year growth of 92.37%.
